Content Policy

This Content Policy explains what Migaki does, what users may submit, and how we may enforce our content standards at our discretion. It complements our Acceptable Use Policy, which lists prohibited categories in detail.

1. What Migaki Produces

Migaki is an image enhancement and upscaling service for 2D and stylized digital illustrations. Users upload their own artwork as input, and we return a refined output:

  • Higher resolution (upscaled 2x – 4x)
  • Enhanced detail (line cleanup, texture preservation, artifact removal)
  • Improved color, contrast, and clarity
  • Optional subtle stylistic refinement

We do not generate images from scratch, and we do not offer text-to-image generation from a prompt alone. Every output is derived from the input image you provide, and you are solely responsible for the input you upload.

We do not process or produce:

  • Realistic human imagery or photo-realistic real-person outputs
  • Deepfakes, face swap, or identity manipulation

2. Allowed Inputs

You may upload 2D / stylized digital illustrations that you own, created yourself, licensed, or otherwise have permission to process, and that comply with these rules and the Acceptable Use Policy. You are responsible for the content you submit. Examples:

  • Character portraits in 2D / stylized digital art (clothed, SFW poses)
  • 2D scenes, landscapes, environments
  • Original character designs, fan art
  • Stylized 2D illustrations within the SFW scope
  • Cleanup of line art, color correction, detail upscaling

The public site (migaki.moe) displays only SFW samples. Public marketing samples are always SFW.

3. Disallowed Inputs

The following content is not permitted, and Migaki may, at its sole discretion, refuse, limit, or remove it (see the Acceptable Use Policy for the full list):

  • Nudity or sexually explicit material
  • Content involving minors in sexualized, exploitative, or unsafe contexts
  • Real-person photographs or photo-realistic real-person imagery
  • Deepfakes, face swap, or impersonation
  • Non-consensual content, violence, gore, harassment
  • Hate symbols or extremist content
  • Copyrighted or trademarked imagery you do not have rights to

You are solely responsible for the content you upload and generate. Migaki does not pre-screen or manually review every image and does not guarantee that any given upload or output will be reviewed, blocked, or permitted. At our discretion we may apply:

  • Upload moderation — automated checks that may flag or refuse content at submission time
  • Output moderation — outputs may be re-checked before delivery
  • Human review — flagged edge cases may be reviewed by Migaki staff

The following categories, including without limitation, are strictly prohibited in all cases and are enforced without exception: sexual content involving minors or characters who appear under 18, real-person sexual or intimate imagery, non-consensual intimate imagery, deepfakes of real people, bestiality, sexual violence, gore, hate or extremist content, intellectual-property infringement, and other illegal content.

4. Subscription Tiers

All paid subscription tiers provide the same service. Tiers differ in monthly processing allowance and queue priority, not in the content rules that apply. Refund eligibility and allowance corrections are described in our Refund Policy.

Full pricing and feature details are on our Pricing page. The monthly processing allowance has no cash value, is non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed, transferred, or withdrawn.

All tiers are subject to the same content rules. No tier unlocks a different content category.

5. Output Watermarking and Metadata

5.1 Outputs delivered to paid subscribers are not watermarked.

5.2 We remove hidden metadata from served output files where feasible, including common image metadata, software fields, comments, and hidden generation data. We do not intentionally embed personal identifiers, payment identifiers, storage identifiers, internal trace data, original filenames, or private processing details in exported image files. For support, safety, abuse prevention, and legal compliance, Migaki may keep limited server-side records.

5.3 Free-trial / demo outputs may include a small Migaki watermark or be reduced in resolution.

6. Public Sample Library

6.1 We may display selected SFW outputs as before/after examples on migaki.moe for marketing purposes.

6.2 We use only:

  • Original samples processed by us using our own input art, OR
  • User-submitted samples with explicit written consent (rare)

6.3 We do not display user uploads or outputs publicly without explicit consent.

7. Style and Artistic Restrictions

7.1 We refine the style of input images rather than impose our own. The service is calibrated for 2D and stylized digital illustration and may underperform on:

  • Realistic / photorealistic styles
  • 3D-rendered styles (Blender, Unreal, etc.)
  • Non-stylized inputs (Western cartoon, watercolor, oil painting, photography)

7.2 If otherwise-compliant 2D or stylized content is outside our optimized artistic range, we may process it on a best-effort basis but cannot guarantee quality.

8. Cultural Sensitivity

8.1 Migaki serves international users. We may decline content that, while legal in some jurisdictions, may be harmful or culturally objectionable in others (e.g., extreme cultural appropriation, dehumanizing stereotypes).

8.2 Our standards reflect international child-protection norms. We block character depictions that "appear underage" regardless of fictional age claims in source media.

9. Compliance

9.1 Migaki is a SaaS product accessible through migaki.moe. Payments are processed by the Merchant of Record or checkout provider shown at checkout.

9.2 We may update these rules if required by law, platform requirements, or payment partner requirements.

9.3 Subscribers will be notified of material changes.

10. Updates

This Content Policy may evolve. Material changes will be communicated by email and posted on this page with a new effective date.
